4/29/2019: Recap of remarks by Pacific Area commander during Arctic Encounter Symposium

U.S. Coast Guard Vice Adm. Linda Fagan delivered a keynote speech and participated in panel discussions April 26, 2019, at the Arctic Encounter Symposium in Seattle. Fagan is the commander of the Coast Guard’s Pacific Area and discussed the Coast Guard Arctic Strategic Outlook, new fleet of Polar Security Cutters and emerging technology being used to promote resilience and prosperity in the Arctic.


4/24/2019: Polar Security Cutter contract awarded to recapitalize nation’s Arctic capabilities

The Coast Guard and Navy, through an Integrated Program Office, awarded VT Halter Marine Inc., of Pascagoula, Mississippi, a fixed price incentive (firm) contract for the Detail Design and Construction of the Coast Guard’s lead Polar Security Cutter.


2/19/2019: Polar Security Cutter Program; Notice of Availability of Final Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement

The Coast Guard will not issue a final decision on the proposal for a minimum of 30 days after the date on which the Environmental Protection Agency publishes its Notice of Availability of the final EIS in the Federal Register.


11/28/2018: Congressional hearing alert – Polar Security Cutter acquisition

The Coast Guard Chief Acquisition Officer, Rear Adm. Michael Haycock, will testify Nov. 29, 2018, before the House Subcommittee on Coast Guard and Maritime Transportation to discuss Polar Security Cutter Acquisition.
