The Liquefied Gas Carrier National Center of Expertise gives LNG training to Cheniere’s LNG PICs and local Coast Guardsmen in Corpus Christi.


9/28/2017: LGC NCOE and industry experts provide technical training for future USCG LNG fueled vessel inspectors

The LGC NCOE, with support from industry and regulatory agencies, along with the Coast Guard’s Office of Design & Engineering Standards and the Marine Safety Center (MSC) provided Coast Guard Marine Inspectors from across the U.S. with an in-depth understanding of LNG fueled engines, bunkering evolutions, risk analysis, containment systems, vessel operations, plan review and firefighting/vapor suppression techniques.


8/16/2017: LGC NCOE releases guidance for analyzing risk of simultaneous operations during liquefied natural gas bunkering

Field Notice 01-2017 contains recommendations for the marine industry and Captains of the Port to consider when assessing the risks of LNG Simultaneous Operations. It includes guidance on an optional, formal operational risk assessment, if the vessel operator chooses to conduct one.
