4/11/2019: CMA Shipping 2019 – Industry oil spill response and salvage experts meet for panel session, “An accident, a grounding, a collision, oil in the water, fire, people missing, news helicopters overhead”

Capt. Ricardo Alonso, chief of the Office of Marine Environmental Response Policy at Coast Guard Headquarters, came together with industry oil spill response and salvage experts April 3, 2019 for a panel session titled, “An accident, a grounding, a collision, oil in the water, fire, people missing, news helicopters overhead – this is the stuff of nightmares” during CMA’s Shipping Conference 2019, in Stamford, Connecticut.

4/3/2019: CMA Shipping 2019 – Keynote remarks on “Countdown to Compliance of IMO 2020”

Rear Adm. John Nadeau, assistant commandant for prevention policy, attended Connecticut Maritime Association’s Shipping 2019 Conference in Stamford this week. Nadeau gave keynote remarks on the upcoming IMO 2020 global cap and also discussed various other initiatives the Coast Guard addressed in 2018. Rear Adm. John Nadeau, assistant commandant of prevention policy, and Mr. Jeff Lantz, Director of Commercial Regulations and Standards, presented a Coast Guard Distinguished Public Service Award April 2, 2019 to Mr. James R. Lawrence during the 34th Connecticut Maritime Association’s Shipping Conference.
