The Coast Guard announced in a Federal Register notice Oct. 12, 2018 that it will impose conditions of entry on vessels arriving from Iraq, with the exception of vessels arriving from several exempted port facilities. Conditions of entry are intended to protect the United States from vessels arriving from countries that have been found to have deficient port anti-terrorism measures in place.

The policy announced in this notice will become applicable Oct. 26, 2018.

The latest Port Security Advisory, PSA 1-18, which includes a list of countries that do not maintain effective anti-terrorism measures and are subject to conditions of entry, can be found on the International Port Security website.
