5/4/2018: “Marine Transportation System Cyber Awareness Training” webinar sessions for AMSC members offered during May 2018

The Coast Guard’s Office of Port and Facility Compliance, in coordination with ABS Group, will provide four opportunities for Area Maritime Security Committee (AMSC) members to take “Marine Transportation System Cyber Awareness Training” via webinar throughout May 2018.

This training was developed to provide basic cyber awareness with a focus on maritime facility and vessel operations. The upcoming webinar has been tailored to the AMSC audience. Topics of discussion include:

• Overview of the basics of cyber as it relates to maritime information technology and
operational technology
• Summary of trends in the maritime industry
• Review of the current threat environment and recent cyber events
• Discussion of common real-world vulnerabilities
• Discussion of available resources to help reduce cyber risk
• Practical guidance on how to build and enhance cyber risk management programs

The webinar is scheduled at four different times. All webinars provide the same content, so you need to select only one from the schedule below:

– May 8, 2018: 11 a.m. – Noon Eastern (Tuesday)
– May 10, 2018: 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. Eastern (Thursday)
– May 14, 2018: Noon – 1 p.m. Eastern (Monday)
– May 16, 2018: 1 p.m. – 2 p.m. Eastern (Wednesday)

The webinar will be recorded and made available for future viewing for those unable to participate during the scheduled sessions.
