10/26/2017: U.S. Maritime Alert 2017-006A warns mariners of plague outbreak in Madagascar

As a courtesy to our readers, Maritime Commons is sharing the content of U.S. Maritime Alert 2017-006A issued Oct. 24, 2017, to inform mariners of a confirmed outbreak of pneumonic plague in Madagascar including in the port city of Toamasina. Current information is available from the U.S. embassy and the Centers for Disease Control. Any questions regarding this alert should be directed to the CDC. Please pay attention to these sources for updates. This alert will automatically expire Oct. 31, 2017.
